Pili, Evia: An Unspoiled Paradise for Nature Lovers We’ll Always Return To
When we told our friends we were going to Pili in Evia, even most Greeks were like, “Where is that?!"... As it turned out, Pili is a perfect example of why it’s worth heading to the places no one has heard of.

Filla to Castle Likarios: Easy day Hike
About Filla (Fylla, Phylla) Village Just a ten-minute drive south of Chalkida, the village of Filla (Φύλλα) is notable for the ruin of Likarios Castle—where someone has memorably spray-painted “Όχι” (“No”) in thick white letters across its stones. On the far side of the dry Lilas Potamos riverbed, you’ll also spot the twin towers of Mytika, like something out of Tolkein. We’d driven past the village previously, spotting the castle and wondered what it was like. Today, we decided to find out. Parking in the village, as in most of Greece, is pretty easy. Finding a spot in the shade though is not so simple! We set off at 11am—early…

Hopelessly Nomantic Family Update
Long time, no post. I’d kind of considered parking this website. We stopped travelling, and during my pregnancy I lost absolutely all motivation to do anything involving my brain. However, the blog has been ticking over quite nicely despite me completely ignoring it – Theth post, I’m looking at you. It’s also been so lovely to hear from people who’ve read my posts and felt inspired <3 Thank you for your messages! Then, a few weeks ago, like a bear climbing out of hibernation, my brain suddenly went: arghhhh I want to write things. I want to create. I want to do something. Then I remembered — I’ve got this…

5 Reasons Why We Chose Greece to Start Our Family
When we settled on Greece as our new home, we were fed up with dirty, noisy and—worst of all—unfriendly Tbilisi. Despite not really being beach people, all my pregnant brain could think about was escaping to a Greek island somewhere. Still, just to make sure it was the right choice, we made a wishlist for our future home. Here is the actual list: Greece was already on our radar. After getting unceremoniously thrown out of Turkey, we ended up spending a peaceful week in Maronia and then a whole month in Kotroni, buried in the Pindus mountains. There we fell in love with Greece: the people, the nature, the cuisine,…

Unexpectedly Expecting Whilst On The Road
Tbilisi, March 2024, I paid a visit to a Urologist in a private clinic. “I'm sure I have a bladder infection, Doctor”, I said. “I’m waking up 3-4 times in the night to go to the toilet”. The service was very thorough so I was straight away given an ultrasound scan to check my bladder and kidneys. What showed on the screen though, was not what I expected…

Are You A Digital Nomad Considering Tbilisi As A Base? Reasons To Think Twice
I actually found this quite hard to write because I think I have some mild trauma after living in Tbilisi for two months. We initially planned a much longer stay in Georgia which were really excited about. On paper, Tbilisi matched everything we look for in a stay. Unfortunately, things worked out rather differently...

The Ultimate Digital Nomad Guide To Antalya Province, Turkey, In Winter
Turkey recently launched a Digital Nomad Visa allowing stays of 1 year, with the possibility of extension. Here’s what we found…

Visiting Tlos Ancient City and Saklikent Canyon | Daytrip from Kalkan or Fethiye
For a fantastic daytrip from Fethiye or Kalkan, I recommend Tlos Ancient city and Saklikent National Park. After spending one month living in the western part of Antalya region, we visited many ancient sites in the region and Tlos is definitely our favourite and one of our top things to do near Kalkan. Conveniently, there are a number of other attractions in the neighbouring Saklikent National Park, including Saklikent Gorge, one of the deepest in Europe.
